Four violins for four seasons?


Aimed at a middle school class less, including both music education and arts education and / or technical assistance.

Ladies and gentlemen, here is Nigel Kennedy, the original and famous violinist, in a staging of Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi never before! Four locations and four violins different for each of the seasons.

Art Education, we a team of skilled engineers / designers who know how to rework the form, materials and color of the violin under the current season. We must therefore draw the violin "Spring" violin "Summer", the fiddle "Autumn" and the violin "Winter". The design will of course be supported by competent luthiers and musicians and music critics supervising the work of designers, making sure that the proportions and materials assumed to be realistic so that the instrument will play once done. The makers prepare a technical file providing some historical and deepening stages of the construction of a violin (data, proportions, materials, paints, etc.).. With the help of musicians and critics, moreover, the designer must enhance the visual aspects musical instrument / sound that characterize Vivaldi's Four Seasons. Every musician is need to prepare a text that tell the season Vivaldi reference listening and sharing with fellow designer. Finally, the photo workers (designers) will find the images likely to form the scenic backdrop of the show, season by season. PROCEDURE

The class will be divided into four teams ("Spring", "Summer", "Autumn" and "Winter"), referring to the season. The design part of the project will be entrusted to the elements particularly adept with graphics and creative sensibility, so streamline and optimize the implementation of the model and the choice the backdrop. Designers must, however, characterize their work following the advice of the luthier and musicians in the team. The main objective is to rework in original form but realistic the violin, according to the season will be featured in Vivaldi. - Music relevance of the above,

- creative ability to organize the speech in order to reflect the story by listening to Vivaldi's sound.


addition, there will be a collective evaluation, including :

- ability to organize and optimize the teamwork ,

- punctuality in delivery (there are 3 weeks including meetings and hours of art education)

This experience allows students to investigate the characteristics of a stringed instrument, alongside the creative fun and play a critical composition.
